Wine Shipments to New York Now Legal

Here's the news we've all been waiting for: Several lawmakers joined Governor George Pataki today at Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars in the Finger Lakes wine region to toast the signing of a bill that will allow direct shipment of wine in and out of New York State.

New Yorkers may now receive up to 36 cases of wine per year per vineyard.

We will update you with more info soon. In the meantime, New York residents may e-mail us at info@escafeld.com with questions and to preorder your wines.

Cheers New York!

New York Legislature Approves Direct-to-Consumer Wine Shipping

Great news for New York wine lovers!

The New York Legislature approved a bill, June 24, which will permit all U.S. wineries to ship wine directly to adult residents of the state. Once the bill is signed, there are some specific requirements that wineries will need to follow in order to comply with the New York law.

We'll be updating you with more details as soon as they become available.

Summer Fun

For those of you heading to the San Antonio Valley to enjoy the lakes this summer, be sure to stop in at Scotty's Pine Canyon store, located at the end of Jolon Road near King City. Scotty's stocks all your essentials, in addition to a great local wine selection. Pick up a bottle of Escafeld Merlot or Zinfandel and head down to The Hacienda Restaurant and Guest Lodge, which was built by William Randolph Hearst prior to Hearst Castle, and is just a stone's throw from Mission San Antonio de Padua.

Not only can you enjoy a delicious meal along with your wine, but the Hacienda also offers great guest lodging and is the perfect place to stay when planning your wine tasting adventures, as it is central to both The Monterey County and Paso Robles wine routes.

Our wine and food page had been updated, so be sure to take a look at Paula's mouthwatering summer salad recipes and wine pairings. Paula is a gourmet cook and certified sommelier, she is also the vineyard manager of Chalk Ridge Vineyard, located here in the beautiful San Antonio Valley.
