Owned and operated by Steve and Elsbeth Wetherill, Escafeld Vineyards is located in Jolon (pronounced "whole-own"), nestled in the northern foothills of the San Antonio Valley appellation in Monterey County, California.
The Jolon area is home to Mission San Antonio de Padua, the third mission established in California (1771). The missionaries, led by Father Serra, quickly recognized that the region's climate was ideally suited to winegrowing, and the mission building, complete with winery, stands as a symbol of this valley's rich viticultural heritage and significance.
