It’s been an exhilarating few months here at Escafeld Vineyards. We’ve received a number of awards, our new website is now live, and we have plenty of fun pouring events on the horizon. Read on for more information about life and times in The San Antonio Valley:
Awards:
We’re pleased to announce that our 2002 Monterey Zinfandel won a Gold medal, and our 2002 Monterey Merlot won a Bronze medal at the recent Lone Star International Wine Competition. We’ ll be posting more information to our website soon, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, e-mail us at info@escafeld.com.
Pouring Events:
Escafeld Vineyards will be pouring at the 13th annual Winemakers' Celebration at Monterey's Portola Plaza, August 13th, 2005. Visit us online for more details. We hope to see you there!
Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association will be featuring Escafeld Vineyards wines at the Wine Tasting Festival in Santa Barbara, July 9th. This is a fun event, so if you’ re in the area, be sure to stop by.
Summer Discount:
To celebrate the summer, and as a thank you to customers and friends of Escafeld Vineyards, we are offering a 15% discount on our Escafeld 2002 Monterey County Merlot when purchased through our web store. This offer is valid until the end of June, and the discount offered is in addition to the usual quantity discounts that are offered on our site (starting at 3% discount on the purchase of two bottles rising to 15% discount on orders of 2 cases or more). To claim your summer discount, simply enter the promotional code JUNE2005 (case sensitive) in the "redeem coupon" field during our web store checkout process.
Upcoming Escafeld Wine Releases:
Our 2003 Merlot and Zinfandel vintages have been in the barrel since February 2004, and after our latest barrel tasting the verdict was unanimous - it is time to bottle the 2003's! The 2003 Merlot has tons of dark berry flavors, balanced by a delicious tannic backbone, while the 2003 Zinfandel has hints of violets and pepper, with a smooth, almost creamy finish. We plan to bottle these wines in June and then allow them to adjust to the bottles for a few months before releasing. A future Escafeld Vineyards newsletter will detail specific release date information. As a sneak preview, we are planning to have a little of each of the 2003 Merlot and Zinfandel available at the Monterey Winemakers' Celebration pouring event in August.
SAVVGA Events:
The San Antonio Valley Vintners and Growers Association will be hosting a member dinner and wine tasting June 18th and their annual Harvest Celebration and Wine Auction in September. Members have the opportunity to meet local growers and vintners while enjoying great food and fine local wines. More information and membership signup can be found at http://www.savvga.org/
